White River Valley Museum

The White River Valley Museum preserves and shares the history of the area known by the pioneers as the White River Valley (Auburn, Kent, Algona, and Pacific). This mission is carried out primarily through the operation of the museum, its exhibits, research collection, educational programs, publications, and outreach activities.

The museum has a small research library with books, diaries, logs, journals, and other works pertinent to the White River Valley and region. In addition, the museum has a photograph collection with thousands of historic images, and bound regional newspapers from 1894 to 1982.

The images selected and scanned for this Web site include the people (including the Japanese American and Native American communities), industries (including the Northern Pacific Railway), homes, and farms of the White River Valley region from 1875 through 1985.
