Northwest Railway MuseumThe Northwest Railway Museum provides the public a place to experience the excitement of a working railroad and to see and understand the significance of railroads in the development of Washington and adjacent areas. The Museum's collection includes the 1890-built Snoqualmie Depot; 5.5 miles of former Seattle, Lakeshore and Eastern Railway line; over 70 large moving artifacts including steam and diesel locomotives, coaches, and freight cars; and a 3,000 volume railway history library. Principle programs include an interpretive railway, exhibits in the Snoqualmie Depot, and a running trades program that teaches the traditional skills required to operate trains and engines. The images selected and scanned for this Web site depict railroad workers, cars, trestles, and depots relating to King County from the late 19th through the 20th centuries. ![]() |
