Wole Soyinka

Born Abeokuta, Nigeria, July 13, 1934

The Seattle community, faculty, and students spoke of memorable moments from presentations given by Wole Soyinka to a full house at each event on the University Campus. Members of the audience exclaimed about his abundant erudition, reflection, creativity, courage, and passion for justice and continued to consider the issues he raised. They heard observations and accounts of a wide range of literary and political topics, many as relevant and important decades later as that April in 1973.
