DESCRIPTION:
Big Tree Inn was located on the De [sic] Moines Highway, "30 minutes from Seattle." The menu is printed on thin paper made from tree bark. It appears shiny, green-brown, wood grain is visible. Cover is a color travel postcard glued to it showing the restaurant, with a woman and her automobile outside. The building is a huge section of tree with glass block window, adjoined by another section of the tree on its side with a door in it. According to the story on the menu back, "This unique building was...built from a giant redwood tree [Sequoia] approximately 2500 years old." Date comes from copyright on postcard of 1930.
