What is a photograph and what isn't? (30 minutes)
Howard Giske, Curator of Photography, Museum of History & Industry
Howard Giske has been a part of MOHAI's photo library for more than 20 years, and is a respected authority on local history, historic photographs, digitization, photo sales, and image licensing. He is selecting one-third of the 4,000 images MOHAI will contribute to the Crossing Organizational Boundaries project.

Conservation and Preservation Issues (30 minutes)
Rod Slemmons, Instructor, University of Washington School of Art and Graduate Museum Studies
Rod Slemmons compiled the REM Database of photo collections in King County. He was formerly Photo Curator, Seattle Art Museum and Chief Curator, MOHAI, and recently curated the Captured Time: Photographic Moments of Discovery in the Northwest exhibit at the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma. He is involved in the restoration of negatives at the Seattle City Archives, and serves on the Crossing Organizational Boundaries Advisory Committee.

Selecting Images for the Website (45 minutes)
Carolyn Marr, Librarian, Museum of History & Industry
Carolyn Marr is well known in the Pacific Northwest as an authority on local history, Native American culture, and on the photo collections held by MOHAI. She is selecting two-thirds of the 4,000 images MOHAI will contribute to the Crossing Organizational Boundaries project.

Nicolette Bromberg, Photographs and Graphics Curator, Manuscripts, Special Collections, University Archives division, University of Washington Libraries
Nicolette Bromberg has been as a photo archivist for the past 20 years. She selected the collections to target for the UW Libraries' contribution of 4,000 images to the Crossing Organizational Boundaries project.
