Female crab bearing what is known to be at least the second sponge. Remnants of an old sponge were found upon the swimmerets when she was taken on April 24. This individual was kept under observation in a wire cage in the water of Hampton River. On May 30, this sponge was formed. Microscopic examination during the next few days showed that the eggs were fertile and beginning to develop
