1918-1961.
The
Gorge
Dam
and
Powerhouse
were
built
by
Seattle
City
Light
and
completed
in
September
of
1924.
A
penstock
is
a
conduit
or
pipe
for
concentrating
the
flow
of
water
from a
dam
reservoir
to a
powerhouse
,
resulting
in
increased
water
pressure
for
electrical
generation.
