NotesPhotographs of the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project constructed between 1918-1961.

The Gorge Dam and Powerhouse were built by Seattle City Light and completed in September of 1924.

The tunnel which is underneath the line of cleared trees will take water from the intake at the Gorge Dam, a few miles down the river, into the penstocks at the Gorge Powerhouse which will be at this site.
