An
old
Glacial
remnant
here has
retracted
enough
to
reveal
a
wee
lake
on the
edge
of the
world.
Just
beyond
is
the
tremendous
drop
into the
head
of
Marble
Creek.
While
El
Dorado
Peak
itself
is
8875
feet
high
-which
is
not
very
high
as
some
mountains
go.
But
closeby
are
valley
elevations
of
only
1000
feet
this
making
the
rise
more
like
7800
feet.
