| Title | Big Four Inn, Snohomish County, Washington, ca. 1948 |
| Photographer | Unknown |
| Date | ca. 1948 |
| Notes | On verso of image: Big 4 Inn, at base of Big 4 Mt., about 40 miles east of Everett, once a swanky mountain resort, served by the now non-existent railroad to Monte Cristo, used as a navy hospital during World War 2, and then was badly crushed by the big snow of 1948, then burned to the ground. Nearly all trace of it is gone, and its once lavish grounds will probably become a popular forest camp. It burned shortly after this picture was taken. It was raining at the time, but not many pictures of it exist in circulation. |
