| Photographer | Unknown |
| Date | n.d. |
| Notes | On verso of image: Fort Simcoe. It was a Fort from 1856-1859, located south and west of White Swan, Washington. After being a fort, it was for many years used as the Indian Agency and Indian School. Later the school was discontinued, and the agency was moved to new quarters at Toppenish. For quite a time, the beautiful and unusual buildings were neglected, and vandals and souvenir hunters did their usual destructive work, until about 1952. Then active steps were taken to preserve and restore the site as a State Park. 2A shows most of the four main houses that faced the parade gounds. |
