| Notes | Gold was discovered on the Nome beaches in the Summer of 1899. By Spring of 1900, thousands had arrived for the gold rush.
Jonathan G. Price was born in April 1870 in Iowa. Before moving to Alaska in 1897, he lived in Rico, Colorado. He was employed as a lawyer. His wife Mabel and daughter Alma were living with him at Skagway in 1900. By 1910, the family had moved to Seattle and John Price was working in the banking industry. John and Mabel had three additional children, Ruth, Rachel and John G. Jr. [Source: U.S. Census]
