NotesThe MULTNOMAH, an old Columbia River sternwheeler which had been for years engaged in the Seattle-Tacoma-Olympia trade, was rammed by the steamer IROQUOIS during a dense fog in Seattle harbor on October 28, 1911, and sank in 240 feet of water. (pg. 197) Notes from Gordon Newell, ed., The H.W. McCurdy Marine History of the Pacific Northwest (Seattle: Superior Publishing Co, 1966).
