Contextual Notes

The ADMIRAL FARRAGUT was built at Philadelphia in 1898 and purchased by the Alaska Pacific Steamship Co. in November of 1912. She was a twin screw steel steamer with a tonnage of 2,141(p. 202-203). She was sold in 1934 to Japanese shipbreakers (p. 432). [All citations taken from Gordon Newell, ed., The H.W.
