| Notes | On verso of image: Wagon train loaded with supplies for the construction department moving down Echo Canyon, Utah, during building of the Union Pacific. Grade of the railroad is shown at right - 1867. Echo Canyon, Utah, is where Brigham Young first viewed his "Zion" (Salt Lake City) - 1847 - The intervals between wagons will give you an idea as to how long Gen. Lee's and Gen. Grant's wagon trains of 10, 000 wagons for each army, stretched out and the length of time it took to pass a given point. |
