DescriptionKIL-01-28 (TL) - Early-middle Roman fine ware bowl rim. Fine with no visible inclusions. Bowl with upright rim, flat on top, fine paralleled grooves on exterior of rim. Slip interior/exterior. Exterior slip badly preserved. Color of fresh fracture: 7.5YR 6/4. Color of exterior: 7.5YR 6/4 to 7.5YR 4/2. Color of interior: 7.5YR 5/6. Diameter of rim (ext.) - 24 cm. Found near North Churches (transect 7). KIL-01-26 (LM) - Late Roman fine ware dish/bowl rim. Fine clay matrix with no visible inclusions. Fragmentary upright rim with flat top, slipped interior/exterior. Matt and well applied. Color of fresh fracture: 7.5YR 7/6. Color of exterior: 5YR 5/8 and lighter. Color of interior: 7.5YR 6/6. Diameter of rim (ext.): 21 cm. Found near North Churches (transect 7). KIL-01-29 (BL) - Middle-late Roman fine ware dish/bowl rim. Fine clay matrix with no visible inclusions, some voids. Fragmentary upright rim with pointed top, slightly inturned. Slipped on both sides. Color of fresh fracture: 5YR 6/6. Color of exterior: 7.5YR 5/8. Color of interior: 5YR 5/8 to 7.5YR 5/8 (slips). Found near North Churches (transect 7). KIL-01-25 (TR) - Late Roman fine ware dish/bowl rim. Fine-grained clay matrix with few large, white inclusions. Fine ware bowl with plain, slightly inturned rim, flat on top, convex body wall, thinly applied slip on interior/exterior. Poorly preserved on exterior, flaking off. Color of fresh fracture: 5YR 7/6 to 6/6. Color of interior and exterior: 2.5YR 5/8 (slips). Where slip is missing, interior/exterior surface is 5YR 7/4. Rim diameter (ext.): 22 cm. Found near North Churches (transect 7). KIL-01-32 (M) - Roman fine ware base. Numerous quartz inclusions, some voids, some black inclusions. Fragmentary base on low ring foot, missing floor, one groove on exterior of foot. Fairly thin walled (0.3cm). Slipped on exterior. Very worn. Color of fresh fracture: 5YR 6/6. Color of exterior: 2.5YR 5/8 (slip). Color of interior: 5YR 6/4. Base diameter (ext.): 8 cm. Found near North Churches (transect 7). KIL-01-33 (BR) -Late Roman/Early Byzantine fine ware base. Fine clay matrix with few tiny white inclusions, some quartz and grog. Fragmentary base on wide, low-ring foot with flat floor and no surviving body walls. Slipped on interior of floor. Splash of slip on exterior of foot. One deep groove on interior of floor. Color of fresh fracture: 5YR 6/4 to 7.5 YR 6/6. Color of exterior: 7.5YR 7/4 (surface). Color of interior: 5YR 5/6 to 4/6 (slip). Base diameter (ext.): 11 cm. Found near North Churches (transect 7).
