DescriptionKIL-01-10 (L) - Early-middle Byzantine plain ware closed vessel(?) body. Fairly fine-grained, some quartz, white inclusions, grog, tiny rounded voids. Body sherd with incised decoration on exterior. Pattern with two parallel deeply incised lines and one row of deeply incised, short lines. Pattern iterated. Unevenly fired. Color of fresh fracture: 10YR 6/4-5/4. Color of interior and exterior: 5YR 6/4-6/6. Found near North Churches (transect 1). KIL-01-11 (R) - Early Byzantine (?) cooking jar body. Large quartz inclusions, dark inclusions, elongated voids. Fairly thin-walled (0.3 cm) cooking jar with ribbed exterior and tall collar. Hard fired. Wheel marks on interior. Scorched on exterior. Color of fresh fracture: 2.5YR 5/8. Color of interior and exterior: 2.5YR 3/4-5/4. Found near North Churches (transect 1).
