DescriptionKIL-01-24 (L) - Late Roman-possibly early Byzantine fine ware base. Fine-grained clay matrix with no visible inclusions. Large fragmentary base on fairly high rim foot (badly preserved). Slipped on interior/exterior. Slip poorly applied, but homogeneous in color. Color of fresh frature: 5YR 7/6. Exterior surface on floor 2.5YR 6/4 to 6/6 where unslipped. Found near North Churches (transect 6). KIL-01-23 (TR) - Mid-Late Roman fine ware base. Fairly coarse with large quartz inclusions, some dark, some smaller white inclusions, possibly quartz. Fragmentary base on medium foot, outflaring, with flat floor, but only tiny portion survives; body missing. Slipped on interior/exterior. Poorly preserved, thinly applied. Color of fresh fracture: 5YR 6/6. Color of exterior finish: 5YR 7/4 to 6/4 (surface). Color of interior finish: 2.5YR 6/8 (slips). Found near North Churches (transect 6). KIL-01-22 (BR) - Early-mid Roman fine ware base. Very fine-grained with no visible inclusions. Fragmentary base of dish, slipped on interior of slightly concave floor, with outflaring foot. Color of fresh fracture: 5YR 7/6.Color of exterior surface: 2.5YR 6/6. Color of interior surface: 2.5YR 6/8 (slip). Found near North Churches (transect 6).
