TitleHome Colony children, ca. 1900
PhotographerUnknown
Dateca. 1900
NotesSocialist community founded in 1896 by the Mutual Home Association. Located on Von Geldern Cove, ten miles northwest of Steilacoom in northwest Pierce County.

On verso of image: Young school children. Mr. Dadisman could identify none of these. Mr. Muirhead wrote at some length of the school teacher, Mrs. Kelley, sister of Mr. O'Dell. "Widow of about 40 or 50, med. height, strong build, very strong and prominent feathers but not big face... dark complection, very dark eyes, hair cut shortish." [She appears from diary to be the only teacher, but David Dadisman referred immediatly to the other teacher as his first teacher. Kate Cheyse. He made no mention of another teacher.]
