NotesLeaflet entitled: "An appeal to mothers and fathers", prepared by some members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs and the Mothers' Congress. This leaflet was apparently sent out in connection with the attempt to recall Mayor Hiram C. Gill in 1911. In 1910, the Washington Legislature granted the vote to women and in the February 7, 1911, recall election, 20, 000 of 23, 000 registered women voters cast their ballots. Gill was turned out of office by 6000 votes.
