Contextual NotesSamuel Gay Morse was sheriff of Clallum County from 1892-1894, after which he served as the Indian agent at Neah Bay. The bulk of his photographs were made during this six year period. Morse later served as Clallum County Commissioner and Captain of police in Aberdeen. He opened a grocery store in Port Angeles in 1920 which he operated until his death in 1921.
