Contextual NotesJazz singer Wanda Brown was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1919. She had been singing in jazz clubs for several years before her arrival in Seattle in 1943. Brown emceed and sang at the Garden of Allah. She was married to jazz drummer Vernon Brown. Wanda Brown continued singing at clubs such as Patty Summers in Seattle until her death in 1995.
