|Historical Notes||The Bell System Exhibit was housed in a building more than two-thirds the size of a football field, the largest single industrial exhibit at the fair. The central theme of the exhibit was "Communications -- Key to Universal Understanding" and displays highlighting such innovations as the Bell Solar Battery, Direct Distance Dialing, and Push Button Telephoning captured the imaginations of fairgoers. Partners in the Bell System Exhibit included the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, the Western Electric Company and the Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company.
