| Notes | From typewritten note attached to photo: Seattle Fair Gets State Maps--Maps from a children's book will play a role in the Seattle World's Fair. Drawn by Leonard Darwin for the book "Our Fifty States, " the maps will be part of historical plaques affixed to flagpoles in the Fair's Plaza of States...Mr. Darwin's maps were chosen by the Fair because their color and simple style highlights resources, industries, mountain ranges, etc, in a manner that will give the visitor to the Plaza of States an immediate picture of each State. "Our Fifty States" was written by Earl Schenk Meyers. It was published last year by Grosset & Dunlap. |
