NotesThe center of the medal is stamped with a depiction of the Frances Willard statue placed in Washington, D.C. in the Statuary Hall. Stamped along the edge of the medal: Frances E. Willard

Frances Willard helped to found the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in 1873. As the organization's second president, she was a very influential temperance reformer and proponent of women's suffrage.
