| Contextual Notes | Boren, Carson (1824?-1912): Member of the Denny party, which arrived in what would become Seattle in 1851. On April 3, 1852, at the northwest corner of present-day 2nd Avenue and Cherry Street, Boren built a tiny cabin, the first in the town.
