| Notes | This letter from Angus D. Chisholm to William C. Ruegnitz, written on May 31, 1935, reports on the success of their efforts to exert the influence of their organization, the Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen (4L), in the lumber industry in Tacoma and Everett. Chisholm describes a meeting of mill operators at the Winthrop Hotel in Tacoma in which the 4L wage scale was discussed, and a meeting of 4L members at the Monte Cristo Hotel in Everett on roughly the same topic. Chisholm notes the attempts by the Timber Workers union to picket the Everett meeting and discourage attendance. |
