| Title | Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen Bulletin No. 3, regarding the objectives of the organization, January 1918 |
| Author | Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen |
| Date of Publication | 1918 |
| Notes | This document is Bulletin No. 3 issued by the Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen, which was published sometime in January of 1918. The bulletin lists the twelve "objects of the Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen" -- a list that ranges from the commitment to remembering that a"a day's lay-off means a day's work for the German rulers who started the war" to a confidence that the organization is helping to "make the world safe for democracy". The Loyal Legion is predicated on the idea that "a dozen axes in a Northwest forest can do more for humanity and civilization at this time than a regiment of rifles in France." The document is issued from the offices of the Spruce Production Division "by authority of the Secretary of War" and the direct supervision of Colonel Brice P. Disque. This bulletin in particular is issued by M. E. Crumpacker, "Officer in Charge". |
