| Title | Everett Labor Journal reprint of an article entitled "Why Don't They Try To Be Fair?", 1919 |
| Author | Unknown |
| Date of Publication | 1919 |
| Notes | "Why Don't They Try To Be Fair?" is an article reprint from the Everett Labor Journal in 1919, which directly confronts the Seattle Metal Trades Council, accusing it of maneuvering to control or destroy the Washington State Federation of Labor (WSFL). The article is largely composed of three letters: the first is a letter from the Miscellaneous Trades Section of Tacoma to local unions, which was sent along with two enclosures, the letters labeled "Letter No. 1" and "Letter No. 2" in this reprint. Letter No. 1 is a letter sent from the Seattle Metal Trades Council to the Seattle Central Labor Council and the Tacoma Metal Trades Council and other local unions, regarding sending representation to the WSFL convention in Bellingham. Letter No. 2 is a letter sent by a group of Tacoma union members and endorsed by the Miscellaneous Trades Section of Tacoma that alleges Letter No. 1 is an indication of these Councils' intentions to seize control of the WSFL, and urges other unions to guard against this. |
