finally
to

Excellency
opposing
the
enactment
of a
"women
suffrage
law"
and
asking
you
in the
event
of the
passage
of the
bill
to
interpose
the
executive
veto

The
petition
will
no
doubt
receive
a
great
many
signatures
here as
both
of
our
daily
papers
have the
hysterics
over
the
matter
and are
trying
to
make
people
believe
it
would
ruin
the
prospects
of
admission.
I
want
to
state
that
said
petition
does
not
represent
the
sentiments
of a
large
and
intelligent
class
of
our
people
, as to
whether
it
voices
the
sentiment
of the
majority
it
is
impossible
to
state
-
As to the
merits
of the
question
I
would not
suggest
an
argument
for
nor
against
only
I
desire
to
ask
in the
event
of the
passage
of the
