NotesAndreas Hennig responds to Dee Molenaar's request for more information regarding his 1939 ascent of the Emmons Glacier, recorded as the first ascent of Mount Rainier on skis. Hennig names two members of his climbing party--Sig Hall, who also ascended on skis, and Ernst Kassowitz, a Seattle area photographer--and also mentions in a postscript that he and two others made a ski ascent of Mount Baker that same year.
