| Notes | This photograph is taken approximately from the location of the Seattle Electric Company plant in the block bounded by Post St., Western Ave., Yesler Way and Columbia St. Elliott Bay, the waterfront, the Colman Dock at the foot of Madison St., Railroad Ave., Western Ave., and Post St., are visible to the left. The back of the Union Block can be seen in the center of the image. The front of the block faces 1st Ave. which leads off to the right to Pioneer Square. The Sullivan Building can be seen across from the Union Block. Hotel Stevens in the center panel, located on the block bounded by Marion and Madison Streets and 1st and 2nd Avenues, was torn down around 1974 to make way for the Federal Building. The Denny Hotel (later renamed the Washington Hotel), Providence Hospital, Central High School, Rainier Hotel, and the King County Courthouse dot the horizon.
