Dialogue and Signage:
[John Bull] Come along my tight lads—don't mind that little Fellow's blustering—you'll be very Snug in an English Port!
[Napoleon] Oh_dat_damn Jean Bull taking away all de grande Ships_dat I intended to keep for myself!..to augment my grande Navy _ to Invade his little paltry Island!
[Label above ships] Danish Fleet
[Number on upper right of drawing] P.4

Historical NotesThis drawing refers to the British takeover of the Danish fleet in 1807. The British guessed that Napoleon would try to capture the fleet, and asked Denmark to let them take the ships into protective custody. Denmark refused, the British attacked, and Denmark quickly capitulated. The British then took the ships back to England to keep them out of Napoleon's reach. The drawing suggests his impotent fury at this development.
