TitleHelicopter view of throat of volcano and ridge in front
PhotographerZoller, William
PublisherUniversity of Washington. Dept. of Chemistry
Date of photograph1980-07
Site locationAerial view of crater
NotesAerial view from the helicopter shows the throat of the volcano itself and the ridge that we had been standing on. This puts it in perspective as to how close it was right to the throat of the volcano. The pulsing jet was to the bottom edge of that lava mass and you can see a little bit of that going off to the right as a horizontal steam plume.
