NotesGraduate student, Janet Phalen, and Bill Zoller are using a cryogenic trapping system to sample volcanic gases outside of the crater. This was taken in 1981 when we went back to the crater. It was right beneath the dome that had now been built up inside the crater. Janet was wearing a gas mask because the amount of Sulfur dioxide [7446-09-5] was starting to be fairly high.
