Site location
Approx

miles
from
crater
Notes
Slide
was
taken
from the
helicopter
as
we
flew
in
towards
the
crater.
It
shows
trees
,
some
still
standing
, but the
upper
part
had been
blown
off
because
of the
shock
wave
that
came
through.
These were
prime
Douglas
Fir
at
Mount
St.
Helens
ready
for
harvesting.
This was a
little
further
away
because
the
trees
were not
completely
blown
down
,
covering
an
estimated
area
of
8-10
miles.
