NotesSlide shows thermal plumes in Spirit Lake that were caused by hot ash at the bottom of the lake that had been dumped here after the eruption. The thermal plumes were turbulent plumes of hot water that were coming from the hot ash and looked almost like a boiling cauldron at the edge of the lake.
