Crater floor
Crater floor
TitleCrater floor
PhotographerZoller, William
PublisherUniversity of Washington. Dept. of Chemistry
Date of photograph1981
Site locationAerial view of crater
NotesView of the crater floor, showing different areas of gaseous emissions, and in general the very bleak nature looking at the crater in 1981. Obviously vegetation could not grow. But it is a very desolate location with a few gaseous steam emissions on the crater floor. This is an example of the absolute desolation that occurs after a volcanic eruption in the crater. There is no vegetation or any sign of life whatsoever.
