NotesSlide is a drawing we made up showing the areas of the lava dome in 1981 during our sampling. It shows three high temperature vents at the bottom where we did our sampling. We did not go on to the top itself because we thought it was far too dangerous, so we stayed down at the bottom flanks. There were plenty of high temperature vents. The temperatures during this time were 300, 600, and 700 degrees Celsius at these three vents.
