[Meed journal: "Overcome by gas - The resucitation. Some of the underground working contained frozen remains of vegetation. When thawed this emitted a noxious gas and treatment was necessary for one so affected. The long hair and beard on one of the men is an example of the custom of some desiring to be distinguished as "Sourdoughs" (old-timers) from "Cheechacoes" (New-comers)."].
