| Notes | The Quileute, whose small reservation lies on the west coast of Washington's Olympic Peninsula, traveled all the way to Puget Sound to pick hops during the autumn harvest. A fishing and seafaring people, they relied on wages from seasonal labor to purchase necessities for their families. In 1888, a white settler set fire to the Quileute's village while most of the residents were away harvesting hops.
