| Notes | Under most circumstances, traditional gambling games such as slahal, the bone game, were discouraged by the Indian agents who administered the reservations. On this occasion, the anniversary of the signing of the 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott, the bone game is a center attraction. Teams have lined up facing each other while a crowd watches. The school boys, in their corduroy uniforms and hats, kneel in the foreground, and some of the girls look down from a balcony of the Girls' Building.
Photographer Ferd Brady had a studio in Marysville, Washington from 1907 to 1910, then moved to Everett, and finally settled in Anacortes in the 1920s. In the 1910s, he had a government contract to photograph the people and activities at the Tulalip Indian School, near Marysville. Brady closed his Everett studio in 1952 and died in 1967.
