Inscription on plaque: Patkanim, Chief of the Snoqualmie, Snohomish and Allied Tribes, signed on Jan. 22, 1855 the treaty which ceded to the United States all the lands from Elliott Bay to the British line. As captain of Indian warriors he fought for the white people.
