| Notes | In workshop, man in overalls and cap carves figure on reclining totem pole. Man in flannel shirt and hat watches. [The totem pole that Shelton is carving was for the Tulalip Indian School. It was raised in 1912, but broke in two. It now stands in two pieces in front of Tulalip Elementary School on the Tulalip Reservation. In the photo you can see the figures identified by Shelton as "Indian Chief Yay-bah-dad, " the Bear, and the Snake. Per: David Cort]
