NotesHandwritten on verso: Chief Seattle grave at Suquamish. When Seattle town had grown to a city a group of the chief's frinds [sic], headed by Hillory Butler, Samuel Crawford and Arthur Denny erected a monument over his grave. Chief Seattle died June 7 1866. The chief was a good friend of the pioneers and would not let his tribe fight against the whites.
