| Notes | Handwritten on verso: Portrait of old Indian Gardner at home 1134 Republican Street where he worked for many years for Grandpa and Grandma Denny. This photo was made in late 1880's or early 1890's. When Uncle Tom showed him the negative he said, "I ain't so black as dat." See # 5334-5335. Original neg by Tom Denny.
Handwritten on negative jacket: #5337. Old Seattle. Copy of faded print of old Indian Zickcuse. Uncle Tom make a photo of him and when he showed Zickcuse the neg, old fellow said, "I am not so black as dat."
