Captionntry No. 1 from Record of Marriage Certificates volume "1/2 A" 1853. This handwritten document states "This is to certify that David Denny & Louisa his wife was married by me a Justice of the Peace on the 23rd day of January 1853 at the house of A. A. Denny near the town of Seattle in King County Oregon Territory in the presence of A.A. Denny, wife & others. D.S. Maynard J.P. H.S. Yesler, Clerk."
NotesThis is Entry No. 1 from Record of Marriage Certificates, Volume 1. This handwritten document states "This is to certify that David Denny & Louisa his wife was married by me a Justice of the Peace on the 23rd day of January 1853 at the house of A. A. Denny near the town of Seattle in King County Oregon Territory in the presence of A.A. Denny, wife & others. D.S. Maynard J.P. H.S. Yesler, Clerk." This certificate is included on a series of volumes that contain transcripts of the recorded marriage certificates. The County Archives' holdings included the first recorded marriages in King County: Volume 1/2, Volume A and Volume B.
