| Notes | Ben Evans was the longtime director of the Seattle Parks Department recreation programs. Around 1910, Evans started as a volunteer at Collins and University Playfields. In 1917, Evans was employed as a full-time playground instructor. By 1938, he was Recreation Director of the parks department and continued in the position until his retirement in 1960.
