NotesJulius Myers ran Myers Empire Music Exchange (later Myers Music) on First Avenue from the 1930s until his retirement in 1984. The store was a prolific supplier of musical instruments and musical supplies for students in school and college bands. Myers sold Quincy Jones his first trumpet and Jimi Hendrix his first guitar (each instrument purchased by their respective fathers).
