| Notes | Solomon (Sol) Chaiken changed his family name from Chaikin to Chaiken.
Note from donor file: Solomon Chaikin and Rachel Weber engaged, ca. 1909-1910, brother and sister of Rachel, woman in middle unidentified. Taken in Maikop, prov. Kubansk, where there were restrictions against settling of Jews. Her father was a doctor of pharmacology. Two of his children followed his profession. Note: uniform of an academy worn by youngest son. Family was well educated. After his death, a daughter and her husband, pharmacologists were named to replace Benjamin Weber, the father, as head of pharmacological distribution in the state. Benjamin and wife Zivia died (in their 50s) in WWI of influenza. They were of high standing in the community and enjoyed a high standard of living.
